Swedish telecom equipment maker, Ericsson, announced yesterday that it had
won a multiyear contract to manage the technology behind AT&T Inc.’s prepaid
wireless services in the United States and Puerto Rico.
“Under the contract, Ericsson will be responsible for hosting, systems
integration and management of the daytoday operations of the prepaid service
for AT&T,” the company said in a statement.
The contract adds three and a half years to an existing arrangement, under which
Ericsson provides realtime billing services for AT&T’s GoPhone wireless
offering. Financial terms of the new agreement were not released.
