Indian mobile customers have had this privilege
since a long time. Now, Russian mobile customers
would be able to receive the incoming calls for
free. This would be possible after a change to the
telecommunications law signed by President Vladimir
Putin as per information coming out of Kremlin.
For now, most of the mobile customers in the
country pay for the calls they receive under the
terms of the contract with their operator. This
results in many subscribers avoiding picking up the
calls coming from unknown numbers leading to
possible losses in businesses and personal issues.
This also means that the customers are no longer
able to receive calls if they run out of credit on
their mobile phones. The changes would be applicable
from July 1 but might not be valid if the calls come
from one region to another or from abroad.
Russia has more than 125.8 million mobile
customers as per statistics revealed by Russian
consultant firm ACM.
