Pakistan wrapped up 2007 with a total of 76.61 million mobile phone users, up from 74.59 million in November, according to the country’s telecom regulator.
Mobilink was a clear market leader with 30.66 million wireless subscribers, while its next largest rival, Ufone had 16.66 million. Telenor Pakistan and Warid are listed as the third and fourth largest Pakistani carriers with 14.60 million and 13.21 million customers, respectively.
Pakistan’s mobile teledensity reached 48.24% at the end of 2007, up from 39.94% a year earlier.
