Some 52% of Ireland’s landline telephone users now bundle internet access or
some other service with their telecom subscription, according to a recent survey
by Millward Brown IMS, on behalf of ComReg.
54% of those surveyed now use the internet in some location, with 48% boasting a
home internet connection. Of these customers 68% say they now use broadband.
Ireland has also seen strong growth in its wireless market, with 90% of
residential telephone subscribers also owning a mobile phone. In contrast to
many other European markets, however, 76% of these customers use prepaid
wireless services, rather than signing up for a monthly plan.
