Spanish telecoms group Telefonica (TEF.MC: Quote, Profile, Research) said
on Thursday the synergies of its alliance with Telecom Italia (TLIT.MI: Quote,
Profile, Research) will reach 1.3 billion euros ($1.96 billion) in Europe
between 2008 and 2010.
The company also said it had kept all options open, including a stock market
listing, on Atento, its call centre unit.
The company said it doesnt plan to sell its stake in Sogecable (SGCE.MC: Quote,
Profile, Research), a Spanish paytelevision group under offer from peer Prisa (PRS.MC:
Quote, Profile, Research).
The alliance with Telecom Italia is "the biggest industrial alliance in Europe",
Telefonica Chairman Cesar Alierta said during a presentation in Madrid, after
the company released fullyear results.
