AT&T Inc. announced yesterday that it had won a $1.6 billion contract to
provide Netherlandsbased oil and gas giant, Royal Dutch Shell Plc., with
advanced telecommunications services.
The fiveyear agreement will see AT&T providing, managing, and maintaining
Shell’s worldwide communications infrastructure, while looking after its global
mobility needs.
AT&T says that this is one of the most valuable commercial contracts it has ever
signed, and the biggest ever with a company based in Europe.
