American telecom giant, AT&T Inc., has developed a new international wireless
data plan specifically for users of the Apple iPhone device.
The new Data Global Plan allows iPhone customers to check email and surf the web
when traveling in 29 countries, including Canada, Mexico, China, and numerous
European nations. To qualify for the plan, users must already have a domestic
voice and data subscription.
The international data package costs $59.99/month for 50MB of bandwidth, and
$24.99/month for 20MB. This represents significant potential savings, compared
with high international roaming charges.
